Vacation Home Pool Tables

My husband and I were considering purchasing a couple of Connelly pool tables for our vacation home. We decided on the 8 foot long table as this was used in regulation tournament play, and we were hoping to compete in the near future. We had no choice in buying a slate table because all quality pool tables have slate tops. Slate makes the table very heavy, and I wasn’t sure the floors were strong enough to hold over 1000 pounds. I had been looking around for materials other than slate which would be just as good, but my husband insisted on slate.
