Protecting the Consumer: California Lemon Law
February 16th, 2010 by admin
As a consumer, when you buy or lease a new vehicle (or a used vehicle with a factory warranty) in the state of California, the California Lemon Law can be a powerful tool when dealing with giant vehicle manufacturers. This is especially true when claiming compensation for “lemons” or defective vehicles under warranty.
Manufacturers are obligated to repair defects and are allowed a “reasonable” number of attempts to do so. But what is reasonable before the vehicle can be considered a lemon depends on the nature of the defect. Generally, safety-related defects will require fewer repair attempts than those not safety-related. You should seek the services of a CA Law attorney to prosecute your claim effectively and in a timely manner.
